Library Access for
Independent Researchers
Apply for free membership
Our mission is to introduce 1000 independent researchers to academic libraries across the UK. Watch this space to see if your local university signs up to the Community Research Project.
Are you a campaigner or charity worker? A writer or filmmaker? An independent scholar or lifelong learner? Would you or your organisation benefit from free access to your local university library and the ability to network and collaborate with other researchers?
The Community Research Project is looking to bring independent researchers from all disciplines and sectors into UK university libraries.
Funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, our 2019 pilot scheme will make 50 places available at the Universities of Sheffield and York. All community researchers will have borrowing rights and on-site access to study spaces and e-resources.
Please apply for free membership. Applicants will be contacted in four to six weeks.
